Template: replace the parts in [brackets] with your company details and have these terms checked by a lawyer for your country before you start charging.
1. Who we are
Pattern Studio is run by [Company name], [address], [company registration number], [VAT number] ("we", "us"). You can reach us through the contact page.
2. Your account
You need an account to save projects to the cloud and to buy a plan. You must be at least 16 years old, give a real email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
3. What you make is yours
Patterns, photos and files you create or upload remain yours. You give us permission to store, process and show them to you only so that we can run the service. We do not use your projects to train models or show them to anyone else. You confirm you have the right to use what you upload, and that sewing patterns you copy from garments are for uses the law allows where you live.
4. Plans, prices and payment
The Free plan costs nothing. Paid plans (Hobbyist and Pro) are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly in advance through our payment provider Stripe. Prices are shown on the pricing page and include VAT where it applies. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before any price change takes effect for you.
5. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from Account and billing. Your paid features stay on until the end of the period you have paid for. After that your account moves to the Free plan; your projects are kept.
6. Refunds and the right to withdraw
If you are not happy, write to us within 14 days of a payment and we will refund it in full. If you live in the EU or UK you also have a legal 14-day right to withdraw from a new subscription. Because the service starts straight away, you agree when you subscribe that a refund on withdrawal may be reduced by the share of the period you have already used.
7. Fair use
Please do not break the law with the service, try to get into other people's accounts, overload or attack our systems, copy the studio's code to build a competing product, or resell access without our agreement. We may suspend accounts that do, after warning you where we reasonably can.
8. Accuracy
Pattern Studio measures garments from photos and drafts patterns from measurements. Results depend on the photo, the reference object and the fabric. Always check the test square and key measurements before cutting expensive fabric. The service is a design tool, not a guarantee of fit.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service running and your data safe, with regular backups, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. We may improve or change features. If we remove a major paid feature, you may cancel and get a refund for the unused part of your period.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or wasted fabric.
11. Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time from Account and billing; this deletes your projects. We may close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
12. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of [country]. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim there.
